Big Love Studios
Big Love Studios was created by Eilidh Direen, Daniel Brooks, and Edward Robert Williams, to release their short film Just Humans in 2023.
Daniel and Edward are longtime friends of Eilidh’s, and inspired her to get into filmmaking after she played a leading role in their debut film, The Bin of Despondency, in 2021. (The Bin of Despondency was later released in 2023, a couple of months after Just Humans.)
Just Humans
When Andy (Tully Direen) graduates year 12, he is excited to go to university, make new friends, and try new things - just like he's seen in all the Hollywood movies.
Then...he goes to the one and only university in his home state (you know the one), and, well, yeah, it goes about as well as you could expect.
JUST HUMANS is a slice-of-life comedy film about a young man's first year of university, made by independent Tasmanian film company Big Love Studios.
Written and directed by Eilidh Direen, JUST HUMANS features local actors, locally produced music, and some of Tasmania's most iconic sights, sounds, and smells.
